SAIL ROUND THE ROCKS, THE. Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. P.W. Joyce (Old Irish Folk Music and Songs, 1909) printed a slip jig called “Irish Hop Jig” (No. 840) that has a similar but not cognate first strain; the second strain differs. A similarly titled, but unrelated, tune is "Sailor on the Rock."
