BARRACK HILL [5]. Irish, Reel (whole time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is contained in vol. 2 (p. 152) of the large 19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper biography:James Goodman. The tune has the alternate title "Reel of Bogies" in the manuscript, but it is not related to the tunes usually known as "Reel of Bogie." Goodman manuscript researchers Hugh and Lisa Shields find the tune cognate with Goodman's own "My Bride is a Young Thing" (vol. 2, p. 179a) and "Mount the baggage" (vol. 4, 83e).
