EVERGREEN POLKA. AKA - "The Favorite Evergreen Polka." American, Polka. D Major ('A' and 'C' parts) & A Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. "Evergreen Polka" appears in volumes of dance music dating from the late 1840's [1], when it was published by Lee & Walker in Philadelphia ("Successor to George Willig"), "as performed at the Philadelphia (Dance) Assemblys." The piece was composed by an African-American composer, A.J.R. Connor.
