SANNY SPEIRS. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). G Major (‘A’ part) & E Minor (‘B’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Composed by A.M. Volti, whose name may be a relative or perhaps another pseudonym for violinist and music teacher biography:Carl Volti (1848-1919), whose original name was Archibald Milligan (1848-1919) who contributed a number of melodies to the Kerr collections. "A. Marurice Volti" was a violin teacher who worked at the same Glasgow address as Carl Volti, but the nature of their relationship, or whether the same person, is not known. Volti penned a number of melodies that were printed in the Kerr’s collections, but also issued music tutors and popular collections on his own. See also A.M. Volti's "East Kilbride" and "West Kilbride."
