Also see "Mist on the Meadow," "Mist in the Glen." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’B (Feldman & O’Doherty): AABB (most versions): AABBCCDD (Kennedy). A variant of the Scottish jig “Blue Bonnets over the Border.” The tune was recorded on a 78 RPM disc by Paddy Killoran (1904-1965) in 1934 (paired with “Tenpenny Bit”). Killoran emigrated to New York from near Ballymote, County Sligo, in 1922, settled in the Bronx, recorded, played and owned a bar. The tune appears in O’Neill’s as “Blue Bonnet's Jig.”
