CROSSES OF ANNAGH [1], THE (Crosbhóithre an Eanaigh). AKA and see "Talk:Down the Broom," "Paddy Canny's" (Martin Hayes), "Paddy Cronin's (2)," "Tommy Coen's" (Hill and Linnane), "Denis Ryan's," "Martin Rochford's." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Crosses of Annagh" is Matt Molloy's title for this variation of the tune usually known as "Down the Broom." It has several alternate titles, usually named after sources (e.g. "Paddy Canny's" from Martin Hayes and "Tommy Coen's" from Hill & Linnane). The Crosses of Annagh is (or was) a popular music pub located about 3/4 of a mile from Miltown Malbay, County Clare, and about two miles from the home of the late Clare fiddler Junior Crehan. Scully Casey lived across the street from the establishment.
