SET DE VAUDREUIL 4ÈME PARTIE. AKA and see "Democratic Rage Hornpipe," "Reel de la paix," "Reel du Pêcheur" French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Set de Vaudreuil, 4th part" was recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) for Victor Records in 1930, accompanied by piano with a dance caller voicing the figures. It was not the first time that Allard recorded the tune, as he had earlier recorded it for Victor as "Reel du Pêcheur." Later, Allard recorded still another version as "Reel de la paix." Jean Duval finds the reel to be a version of "Democratic Rage Hornpipe" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).
