The first part is similar to an untitled Pennsylvania collected quadrille in Bayard (Dance to the Fiddle…, 1981, No. 458, p. 440). A whole time version of the tune under the title "O'Connell's March to Jara" was collected by the Rev. Luke Donnellan and published in his article "Oriel Songs and Dances" published in the Journal of the County Louth Archaeological Society (vol. II, No. 2, 1909; No. 98),
