POSSUM HOLLOW. AKA - "Possum Hollow Breakdown." Old-Time, Country Rag. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A fast, raggy, blues-tinged piece from the northwest Alabama group The Stripling Brothers [1], Charlie (1896-1966) and Ira (1898-1967). Lee Stripling, fiddler Charlie Stripling's son, also recorded the tune, but did not know anything about it other than it was played by his father.
