TEXAS GALS. AKA "Texas Gales." AKA and see “Knockin’ at Your Door [2].” American, Reel (cut time). USA. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The title is sometimes given as “Texas Gals.” The “Texas Gales” title comes from the Doc Watson recording of the tune, but Kerry Blech, for one, believes it was a miss-hearing of “Texas Gals,” spoken in a North Carolina drawl. See also Gene Goforth’s cognate “Knockin’ at Your Door.” Source for notated version: The Hillbillies [Brody]. Brody (Fiddler’s Fakebook), 1983; p. 274.
