FAREWELL TO THE TROUBLES OF THE WORLD (Slan agus Beannacht le Buaidhreamh an tSaoghail). AKA and see "Daniel O'Connell's Welcome to Parliament," "Farewell to My Troubles," "O'Connell's Welcome, "O'Connell's Welcome to Parilament." Irish, Air or Jig. D Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The title is a recurrent line of several songs set to the melody. O'Neill printed the melody as "Farewell to My Troubles." The "Blackthorn Stick (1)" family of tunes shows similarities in melodic contour to the first strain of "Farewell to the Troubles of the World."
