GIRL WITH THE LAUGHING EYES, THE (Cailin leis na miogsuile, An). AKA and see "Brightest Eyes," "Emlagation Reel," "Lame Fisherman (The)," "Paddy Killoran's (1)," "Sweeney's Dream." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AA'B (O'Neill/Krassen). Francis O'Neill may have had this tune from Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), where it appears as "Brightest Eyes;" the titles are similar. Paddy Killoran and Paddy Sweeney recorded the tune in duet in 1937 in New York, under the title "Sweeney's Dream". See also note for "annotation:Lame Fisherman (The)" for more.
