FLITTER DANCE. AKA - "Flitter Daunsey." English, Polka (4/4 time). England, Isle of Mann. D Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The 'flitter dance' was a traditional Manx dance performed on Good Friday at the shore. It was assembled by Mona Douglas from various sources and was complete as a workable dance by 1957 (Cinzia Curtis 2006). A 'flitter' is a type of limpet.
