FLATFOOTED HENRY. Old-Time, Breakdown. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. It has become fashionable to add a II chord (D) to the accompaniment of the tune, although not original.

Source for notated version: from an amateur tape of Jonathan Bekoff and Kirk Poweel on fiddle and banjo, Galax, 1986 [Songer].

Printed sources: Phillips (Traditional American Fiddle Tunes), vol. 1, 1994; p. 88. Songer (Portland Collection), 1997; p. 79.

Recorded sources: Rounder 0213, The Tompkins County Horseflies - "Chokers and Flies" (1985. Learned from Fonsee Kennemer, north Georgia, who did not call it by the title, according to Kerry Blech).
