PRINCE WILLIAM HENRY'S RETURN. English, March (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Prince William Henry [1], 1st Duke of Gloucester (1743-1805), was one of the younger brothers of King George III of England. The tune title may refer to William Henry's return to London after his post as General Office Commanding the Northern District (the northern counties of England), which he held from 1796 to 1802. The command was based at Fenham Barracks in Newcastle upon Tyne.
