FORTY MILES. American, March (irregular time but generally in 6/8). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Bayard (1981) considers it a version of the Scottish "Muirland Willie".

Source for notated version: Irvin Yaugher Jr., Mt. Independence, Pennsylvania, October 19, 1943 (learned from hearing 'martial bands' {fife and drum corps} play it) [Bayard].
