PUSSY AND THE BABY. AKA and see “Hell on the Wabash (4),” “She oughta been a Lady,” “Silver Lake (4).” American, Reel. Mel Durham, an Illinois native, had the tune under the title “Pussy and the Baby,” although in Missouri it can be found as “She oughta been a Lady.” Bayard prints it as “Silver Lake.” The melody is related to the Irish hornpipe “Boys of Bluehill (The)” AKA “Beaux of Oak Hill (1).”
