DELVIN HOUSE [2]. AKA and see "Mr. Binden's Fancy," "Lord Breadalbane's Delight." Irish? Scottish?; Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Although little is known of uilleann piper O'Farrell (not even his first name is known), he was based at least part of his career in London, where he is recorded as performing in concerts and plays. His printed repertoire includes not only Irish, but English and Scottish works, and the provenance of his "Delvin House (2)" is unknown. The tune was printed in Glasgow by James Aird (Selections, vol. 5, 1801) under the title "Mr. Binden's Fancy" and Aird declared the tune to be "Irish," however, it does not appear in any exclusively Irish collections.
