Tune properties and standard notation

GALWAY REEL [4], A. Irish, Reel. Ireland, Galway. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A generic title identifying only region for this tune, actually a version of "Highlander's Kneebuckle (The)." The tune is attributed to piper Stephen Ruane (Galway, Ireland), who played it at one of the Feis Ceoil competitions at the turn of the 20th century. Ruane, who died in 1935, was described as an "excellent performer." Breathnach (1996) believes the melody was noted from the playing of Martin Reilly.
