GAMESTERS AND LAWYERS, THE. AKA and see "When Once I Lay with another man's wife," "King's Delight (The)." English, Air. The air appears under this title in John Gay's Beggar's Opera of 1729. It is also in John Playford's Musick's Handmaid of 1678. Lawyers were held in as poor esteem in Gay's time as now-days.
