LOST BOY. American, Reel (cut or 2/4 time). USA, Kentucky. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAABB. "Lost Boy" is a slightly 'crooked' or irregular tune from the repertoire of John Morgan Salyer (1882-1952, Salyersville, Magoffin County, Ky.). Salyer also played a reel by the name of "Lost Girl," a more common tune than his "Lost Boy," but perhaps a companion tune. Fiddler Bruce Molsky, commenting in Fiddler Magazine [1997-09-01], says: ""Lost Boy" is pretty much "Lost Girl," but with the first part being in 9-time instead of 8."
