LADY MACKENZIE OF SEAFORTH. AKA and see "Allangrange," "Lady MacBeth's Strathspey," "MacBeth's Strathspey," "Miss McLachlan's Strathspey," "Miss Montgomary." Scottish, Strathspey. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'CCDD'. A pipe tune, though better known by pipers (at least in Cape Breton) under the alternate title "MacBeth's Strathspey." Highland piper David Glen prints the tune as "Allangrange" in his Edinburgh Collection (c. 1905-08) but gives "Lady MacKenzie of Seaforth" and "Miss McLachlan's Strathspey" as alternate titles. As "Lady MacBeth's Strathspey" the tune was included in Angus MacKay's Tutor for the Highland Bagpipe (1878), and Hamish Henderson's pipe book gives "Miss Montgomary" as an alter title and calls it "a tune of ancient origin."
