COTILLON CANADIEN NO. 1. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A rather simple, Irish-sounding reel, well-played by Antonio Gauthier on his 1926 Starr recording. The tune is reminiscent of (but not cognate with) "Miss MacLeod's Reel/Miss McLeod's Reel (1)" and Gauthier seems familiar with simple Irish ornamentation.
