GYPSY HORNPIPE [1]. AKA and see "Quadrille de campagne -- 5ème partie," "Quadrille canadien -- 5ème partie." Canadian, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Gypsy Hornpipe [1]" was recorded by Don Messer in 1948. The tune is listed as "Trad." in the 1980 Messer book, however, it is a version of a tune first recorded by Isidore Soucy in Montreal in 1926, and subsequently recorded by him in two other versions.
