QUADRILLE CANADIEN -- 1ERE PARTIE. French-Canadian, Quadrille (cut or 2/4 time). D Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Soucy researcher Jean Duval finds that Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard recorded a non-'crooked' (i.e. regularly metered) versions in 1932 under the titles "Reel boule de neige" (Snowball) and "Quadrille fèves au lard"[1] The latter version was covered by 'Downeast' fiddler Don Messer in 1948 under the title "Pork and Beans."
