MRS. GARDEN OF TROOP & GLENLYON'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in fiddler-composer biography:Robert Petrie's Fourth Collection (c. 1805), although he did not claim it (as he did with other tunes his collection). Garden of Troup (sometimes 'Troop') was his employer, and Petrie worked on the estate as a gardener. He composed a number of tunes named in honor of the family.
