SKIVER THE QUILT [3]. American, Jig (6/8 time). A Major ('A' part) & E Dorian ('B' part) {Cole/Ryan}: G Major (‘A’ part) & D Dorian (‘B’ part) {Kennedy}. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The jig is not related to "Skiver the Quilt (1)" or "Skiver the Quilt (2)". New York researcher, musician and writer Don Meade says: “Skiver was an inferior leather made from sheep skin, but the title may have been a misprint for 'Shiver the Quilt', the meaning of which is more easily imagined.”
