SLAUGHTER HOUSE. AKA and see "Hey Ho My Honey." English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). B Flat Major/G Dorian/Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABC. The tune, which slips in and out between major and modal tonality, dates to the year 1701 when it was published in London by Henry Playford in his Dancing Master, eleventh edition (II, p. 4). It was retained in all subsequent Dancing Master editions through the eighteenth and final edition of 1728. "Slaughter House" was also published by John Walsh in The Compleat Country Dancing Master (editions of 1718 and 1735).
