SLAGGYFORD GALOP. English, Galop. England, Northumberland. D Major (‘A’ and ‘B’ parts) & G Major (‘C’ through ‘F’ parts). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD’EEFF. Composed by Robert Whinham (1814-1893), a musician, teacher, composer, dancing master and fiddler, originally from Morpeth. Graham Dixon (1995) notes that Slaggyford is a hamlet near Town Green, Northumberland.
