SLIGO RAMBLER [2]. AKA and see “Cullen Jig (The),” “Humors of Glynn (1)," “Padraig O'Keeffe's Jig (1).” Irish, Jig (6/8 time). Captain Francis O’Neill recorded the famous stage piper Patsy Tuohey on a cylinder c. 1901-04 playing the tune as a jig under the title “Sligo Rambler.” It is a version of an older air called “Humors of Glynn (1)” first published by O’Daly in PPM (138), and later by O’Farrell as “Humors of Glen (The)” in Pocket Companion vol. 1 (1). In Sliabh Luachra the melody is played as “Cullen Jig (The)” (Port Chuilinn Uí Chaoimh.”
