GIFT FROM THE FAIRIES. AKA - "Fairy Jig (3)," "Frank of the Hollow." from the Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. From the playing of Donegal fiddler Mickey Doherty (older brother of John Doherty and a member of the famous traveller musical family) who said he had it from the fairies. It was recorded in the field in 1949 by Kevin Danaher and Sean O' hEochaidh of the Irish Folklore Commission.
