RAINY DAY [1], THE (An Lá Báistí or La Baisteac). Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Similar to “Lovely Anne (2)" in the first strain. Also similar to "Reel des habitants" and "Sligo Maid".
Source for notated version: noted from the playing of uilleann piper Séamus Ennis (Dublin), who learned them from his father, a piper taught by Nicholas Markey who in turn had been taught by the renowned Billy Taylor of Drogheda and later Philadelphia [Breathnach].
