SNOWSHOES [2]. AKA - "Snow Shoes." American, Reel (cut time). USA, Virginia. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB: AABB'CC (Phillips). A version of “Snowshoes (1)”. The reel is reminiscent of, and perhaps related to (at least in the second stain) the Missouri reel "Spotted Pony (2) (The)”. "Showshoes [2]" is a binary tune. The third section in Phillips' 1994 collection is source John Ashby's (northern Va.) first strain, while the first of Phillips strains is the one used by Cecil Johnson.
