The tune was attributed by Anglican cleric, collector and uilleann piper James Goodman (County Cork) to the renowned 18th century gentleman-piper Walker 'Piper' Jackson, of the townland of Lisdaun, parish of Ballingarry, Aughrim, County Limerick.
