'SMILING DICKY'S JIG'. English, Jig (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the 1770 music manuscript copybook of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, about whom unfortunately little is known. "Smiling Dicky's" is also the name of some unrelated hornpipes.
