GILLE DUBH MO LAOCHAN, AN. AKA and see "Black but Comely," "For a' that and a' that," "A Man's a Man for a' that." Scottish, Air (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The air to a Gaelic song used by poet Robert Burns for his song "A Man's a Man for a' that."

An gille dubh gur fad' amuigh,
An gille dubh, mo laochan;
An gille dubh gur fad' amuigh,
An gille dubh, mo laochan.
Cha toirinn bainne ghobhar dhuit,
Na idir bainne chaorach,
Oir leam gur math an airidh thu,
Air bainne chruidh's na laoigh thu.
