DOWN THE MEADOWS [2]. AKA and see "Lasses of Donnybrook." Irish, Reel (whole time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Down the Meadows [2]" was entered into vol. 2 of the c. 1883 music manuscript collection of Co. Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894). It is a variant of the Scottish tune "[[Braes of Mar (1) (The)" but is known by several titles in Ireland, and played as a reel, fling and Highland.
