GALBALLY LASSES (Na Cailinide Ua Gall-Baile). Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC (O'Neill/1850): AA'BB'C (O'Neill/Krassen). "Galbally Lasses" is a derivative of the fiddler-composer biography:Robert Bremner's Scottish reel "Rothiemurchus Reel, AKA "Rothiemurchus Rant" and "Grant's Strathspey." Other Irish derivatives include "Graf Spee (The)" and "Western Lasses." Other versions can be found in the Boston-based Elias Howe group of publications as "Grand Spy (The)" and "Winnie Green's Favorite."

Additional notes
Source for notated version : - "Cronin" [O'Neill]. Chicago fiddler Edward Cronin was originally from Limerick Junction, County Tipperary, born in the 1840's. O'Neill thought highly of his playing and transcribed many tunes from his vast repertory, but Cronin could also be suspicious and a somewhat inconstant individual.
