Stuart Williams learned this tune from Oregon fiddler Wayne Holmes, who got it from Edna Grice (formerly Edna Jenkins) of Nampa, Idaho. Edna played country music in local bars, and was a top competitor at Weiser and other Northwest fiddle contests in the 1960s. She named the tune for her favorite whisky, a bottle of which would sit on the kitchen table as she sat in her kitchen in her stocking feet, playing music with her friends.
