HAUL HER ACROSS THE ROAD. AKA and see "Humors of Mullinafauna (1) (The)," "Little Bag of Meal (The)," "Nancy Hynes." Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. The tune was entered as "Haul Her across the Road" in Book 3 of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894). Grier researchers Fr. John Quinn and Conor Ward find the tune cognate with "Humors of Mullinafauna (1) (The)," "Little Bag of Meal (The)," and "Nancy Hynes." Similarly titled tunes, reels, are called "Drag Her Around the Road (1)" and "Drag Her Around the Road (2)."
