Hand" or Johnny Hand to whom several tunes are attributed to in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). There is also a James Hand who contributed tunes to that collection. New York musician and writer Don Meade believes the Hands may have been fiddling brothers playing the New England/New York stage circuits in the mid-1800's, however, information on biography:John Hand has been particularly hard to find and they remain enigmas for now.
