GARDENER WI' HIS PAIDLE [2]. American (?), Jig (6/8 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The title, which appears in Howe's Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882, p. 602) as "Gardner and His Padle," is the name of a song by Robert Burns, printed in Johson's Scots Musical Museum vol. 3 (1790). The air to the song in the Museum, however, is a different, duple-time tune (for which see "Gardener's March (The)."
