DON'T YOU CRY MY HONEY. American, Song/Reel (cut time). A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Don't You Cry My Honey" is a song-tune (a reel with words, usually floating verses) recorded by the north Georgia group The Skillet Lickers in 1930. The recording featured the premier line-up for the band, which often had interchangeable members and who recorded frequently in off-shoots of different configurations of Skillet Lickers members with different group names. Playing fiddle for this recording were Clayton McMichen, Lowe Stokes and Bert Layne, with Riley Puckett on vocals and guitar.

The melody itself is a variant of a widespread song-tune known variously as "Take Me Back to Georgia", "Rattlesnake Bit the Baby," and other titles.
