The recording featured the premier line-up for the band, which often had interchangeable members and who recorded frequently in off-shoots of different configurations of Skillet Lickers members with different group names. Playing fiddle for this recording were Clayton McMichen, Lowe Stokes and Bert Layne, with Riley Puckett on vocals and guitar.
The melody itself is a variant of a widespread song-tune known variously as "Take Me Back to Georgia", "Rattlesnake Bit the Baby," and other titles.
