MISS ROSS'S REEL [2]. English, Scottish; Reel (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears in the 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist biography:John Rook, of Waverly, near Wigton, Cumbria. The first strain is shared with several other tunes, including "Am Bodach Lúideach Odhar," "Munro's Rant," "Monro's Rant (The)," "Larickille," "Peep o' Day (2), and biography:Joshua Campbell's "Perth Hunt (2) (The)." The second strain of "Miss Ross's Reel" differs from these tunes, however.
