MR. DAVID KEMP'S GIGG. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Mr. David Kemp's Gigg" was printed in John Bowie's single-sheet issue entitled Six Favorite New Tunes, printed around the year 1789. It was composed "By a Lady," who wished to remain anonymous. However, Bowie may be giving a clue to her identity as his own composition, "Lady Mary Ann Murray's Delight", has pride of place as the first tune in the issue.
