BACON RIND [2]. American, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The Prairie Ramblers recorded "Bacon Rind [2]" in August, 1937, released on Conqueror 8830 (78 RPM) where it is credited to the group's left-handed fiddler Shelby "Tex" Atchison. It is musically unrelated to "Bacon Rind (1)," and includes vocalized calls for a square dance. The first strain is reminiscent (perhaps derivative) of "Dance All Night," but probably not cognate.
