MR. DUGALD CAMPBELL ARDMORE'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Reel (cut time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Mr. Dugald Campbell Ardmore's Favorite" was composed by Islay fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Mackay for a young Dugald Campbell (1811-1888), who would have been but a boy at the time. Mackay composed tunes for everyone in the large family of Archibald and Helen Campbell of Ardmore (see note for "annotation:Mr. Archibald Campbell Ardmore's Reel" for more). Dugald grew up to be Reverend Campbell, according to a note on Ancestry.com, but this has not been verified.
