Rolling River

Delbar Tarpley was born 18 September 1900, probably in Wabash Co, IL & died 6 August 1995 in Olney, Richland Co, IL. He may be heard playing this tune on "Hear Old Illinois: The Dear Old Illinois 3-CD Set, CD-2," Pick Away Press, CD (2007). The tune is No. 220 in "Dear Old Illinois," Pick Away Press, Bloomington, IN (2007). It was collected from Mr. Tarpley on 30 December 1975. The tune was recorded by the Volo Bogtotters in a medley of "Rolling River / Forked Deer" on "Volo Bogtotters," Marimac 9024, cassette (1990).
