The reel was printed in Edinburgh fiddler-composer and bandleader biography:Robert Mackintosh's (c. 1745-1808) Fourth Collection of New Strathspey Reels (c. 1804) under the title "Miss Stevenson's Reel", wherein he clams composer credit for the composition.
