PAS SEUL [3]. Scottish(?), Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Pas Seul [3]" was printed in Montrose and Aberdeen dancing master and musician biography:Archibald Duff's Choice Selection (c. 1812). Duff had several "Pas Seul" tunes -- actually sets of three melodies-- in his collection along with names of what probably were his dance students. The title for "Pas Seul [3]" records that it was "Danced by Miss Frances Urquhart", and it seems that Duff choreographed solo dances (pas seul) for several young women, probably his students. The other tunes in his "Pass Seul [3]" are "Thorn (The)" and the Irish slip jig "Grinder (The)."
